THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Police are looking for two men who have been charged in connection with the early morning break-in at Cross Road Curb Market in Thomasville.
The two men are accused of crashing a car into the store, which is now an Exxon, early Thursday morning, stealing a carton of cigarettes and then fleeing the scene in the wrecked vehicle.
The men have been identified as James Arvil Shoun Jr., 41, of 401 Lake Drive, Archdale, and Kevin Douglas Cranford, 45, of 2592 Jamestown Road, Thomasville.
They are both charged with felonious breaking and entering and felonious larceny.
Video surveillance shows a grey Nissan Pathfinder back into the front of the business. Both men jumped out of the vehicle, stole tobacco products and drove away leaving the bumper of the car behind.
The crash happened around 2:27 a.m. The store was closed and no one was inside.
The suspects are believed to be in a grey 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with an unknown fictitious registration number plate. The Pathfinder will be missing the rear bumper and also has damage to the left, rear quarter panel.
“Upon viewing the surveillance footage, we learned that some of our patrol officers have had previous interactions with the Nissan Pathfinder,” said Detective Ross Conover. “We were able to take that information and identify James Shoun Jr. and Kevin Cranford.”
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are pending.
Anyone with information is asked to call Thomasville Police at 336-475-7755 or Crime Stoppers at 336-476-8477.
